Simple Fish fry recipe in Tamil – எளிதான மீன் வறுவல் – beginner’s special simple fish fry recipe

  • Prep Time: 15 mins
  • Marinate Time: 10 – 20 mins

  Ingredients needed:

  • Fish – 3 to 5 nos (any fish)
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp.
  • Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Rice flour – 1 tbsp.
  • Oil – as needed
  • Chopped curry leaves
  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • Half a Lemon
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  • Clean the fish well and dry it. (Remove the scales and scratch it with rock salt and then wash it twice or thrice. Use napkins towels to remove excess water from fish)
  • Mix all the above listed ingredients in a bowl(except fish and oi). No need to add water as water is the ginger garlic paste, lemon juice and moisture in the fish is enough. If needed you can add 1/2 a tsp of water to make a masala paste
  • Coat the fish pieces with the masala paste and marinate it for minimum 10-20 minutes or more if you need. But even 10 minutes is fine for this recipe
  • Heat some oil in a tawa and fry until crispy on both the sides. If you want, you can also deep fry it instead of shallow fry

Garnish with lemon wedges and onion rings. Enjoy!!

Notes:

  1. Deep fry or shallow fry it as you prefer
  2. Any fish can be used for this recipe
  3. Adjust chili powder and pepper as needed
