Easy Mutton Kurma in 3 steps | Mutton Curry | Mutton Kuruma

Lets see how we can make very easy and tasty Mutton Kurma in 3 steps:

 

  • Prep Time: 10 mins
  • Total Time: 30-45 mins
  • Serves: 2 – 4

  Ingredients needed:

  • Mutton /Goat meat -3/4 kg
  • Big onion – 1
  • Tomato -1
  • Chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
  • Salt – As needed

Seasoning:

  • Oil – 2 – 3 tsp
  • Cloves – 6 nos
  • Cinnamon – 2-inch piece
  • Pepper corns – 1 tsp
  • Fennel seeds– 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds– 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Water – 2 cups or as required

To grind:

  • Grated coconut – 1/2 cup
  • Small onions/Shallots – 15 nos
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
  • Pepper corns – 1 tsp
  • Oil – 2 tsp

Preparations:

  • Cut the meat into medium size pieces; Wash and clean it well
  • Chop Onions and Tomatoes
  • Keep remaining ingredients ready

 

Step 1:

  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker; Add Seasoning ingredients, Onion, salt, Tomato,Ginger Garlic paste. Fry until raw smell goes.
  • Add mutton, turmeric powder and cook for a minute
  • Add Chili and coriander powder; Cook for 2 – 5 minutes on a medium flame
  • Once the raw smell goes, add 2 cups of water or as required; Bring it to boil;
  • When it starts boiling, close the lid and pressure cook for 5 to 7 whistles on a medium flame
  • Keep it aside

When it is being cooked, lets prepare the masala paste.

Step 2:

  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker; Add To grind ingredients; Take care not to burn it. Switch off the flame and add grated coconut. Let it cook in the heat itself
  • Once it is cool, grind it to a paste.
  • Keep aside

Step 3:

  • Open the cooker once the pressure subsides; Meat should have cooked well
  • Add grounded paste and mix well
  • Let boil in a medium flame for 5 to 10 mins

 

Easy and delicious “Mutton Kurma “is ready.

Serve with

  1. Steamed rice
  2. Roti/Chapati
  3. Parotta
  4. Naan
  5. Idly
  6. Dosa

 

Notes:

  • Adjust water as per the consistency you need
  • Pepper and chili can be adjusted as you prefer
  • To grind paste: You can also grind only coconut, s.onions and fennel seeds
