Sathu maavu – Home made health mix recipe – 34 ingredients health mix powder

  • Collect all the listed ingredients
  • Dry fry each of the ingredients in a heavy bottom pan / Kadai
  • Spread it in a cotton cloth and let it cool completely
  • Grind it in a rice mill to a soft and fine powder
  • Store it in a clean and dry container.
  1. Pacharisi – 100g
  2. Pacha payaru – 1/4kg
  3. soya – 1/4 kg
  4. Verkadalai/Pea nuts – 100g
  5. Samba godhumai/Wheat – 1/4kg
  6. Red rajma – 100g
  7. Kelvaragu/Ragi/Finger millet/ – 1 kg
  8. Javvarisi/Sabudhana – 100g
  9. karuppu ulundu/ Black urad dal – 1/4 kg
  10. Barley rice – 1/4 kg
  11. Kambu / – 1/4kg
  12. Moongil arisi / Bamboo rice – 1/4 kg
  13. Udaitha kadalai/Roasted gram – 100g
  14. Vellai cholam – 1/4kg
  15. Makka cholam/Corn – 1/4kg
  16. Karuppu konda kadalai/Black channa dal – 1/4kg
  17. Sivapu airisi / Red rice – 1/4 kg
  18. kai kuthal arisi/ Hand pound rice – 1/4 kg
  19. Karuppu kavuni arisi /Black rice – 1/4kg
  20. Thinai – 1/4kg
  21. Saamai – 1/4kg
  22. Varagu – 1/4kg
  23. Kuthiraivali – 1/4kg
  24. Munthiri/Cashews -10
  25. Badham /Almonds – 10
  26. Yelakkai/ Cardamom – 10
  27. Sukku/Dry ginger – Rs.10
  28. Mappillai samba arisi/Bride groom rice?] – 100g
  29. Milagu/Peper – 2 tbsp
  30. Ellu / Til – 1/4 cup
  31. Vellari vithai – 2 tbsp
  32. Pachai parupu/Moong dal – 100g
  33. Ulundu/Urad dal – 1/4 cup
  34. Kasa kasa/poppy seeds – 25g
  1. You can combine some of the same like ingredients and fry it together like saamai and varagu. But make sure it fries well and take care not to burnt it
  2. Sukku / dry ginger has to be fried little extra. So it takes extra time.
  3. Corn / Makka cholam will pop up and jump ahead the pan. So fry it with any other item to avoid it flying out of pan.
  4. Finally, fry the finger miller / raagi seperately as it take more time.
